Body

Grenadilla Wood
Grenadilla wood, like all woods, is available in different qualities. The more expensive instruments will feature wood with a tighter grain and better sound tone.

Key System

Conservatory
Upper line oboes sold in the United States are manufactured with a certain fingering system known as a conservatory system. A conservatory system is further differentiated by levels known as basic, modified, or full. A full system will offer more trill keys and alternate fingerings than a basic system would, thus facilitating greater technique.
